Kodiak Sciences Announces First Patients Enrolled in Global Phase 3 ALTO trial of KSI-501 in Patients with Diabetic Macular Edema

Kodiak Sciences Inc. has announced the enrollment of the first patients in its global Phase 3 ALTO trial for KSI-501, a bispecific therapy targeting diabetic macular edema (DME). The trial aims to demonstrate KSI-501's superiority over aflibercept by inhibiting both IL-6-mediated inflammation and VEGF-mediated vascular issues, potentially offering deeper and more sustained disease control with less frequent dosing. This study builds on previous research suggesting dual inhibition could lead to improved visual and anatomical outcomes for DME patients.
