Edenor buys MetroGAS from YPF for US$780 million in energy shake-up

Edenor, Argentina's largest electricity distributor, has agreed to acquire YPF's 70% stake in gas distributor MetroGAS and a 5% stake in MetroENERGÍA for US$780 million. This acquisition diversifies Edenor's revenue streams by adding gas distribution to its existing electricity grid operations. For YPF, the sale allows it to focus on its US$6.2 billion capital expenditure in Vaca Muerta shale.
