Vivmark Residential expected to trade on NYSE Aug. 18 if merger closes

AvalonBay Communities, Inc. (AVB) and Equity Residential (EQR) shareholders have overwhelmingly approved the merger of equals between the two companies. The merger is expected to close on August 17, 2026, with the combined entity to be renamed "Vivmark Residential" and its shares trading on the NYSE under the symbol "VMRK" starting August 18, 2026. This strategic move will create a new residential REIT focused on major metropolitan areas across the U.S.
